Brentford manager Keith Andrews hopes his team will draw strength from the vibrant atmosphere at the Stadium of Light in their upcoming Premier League third-round match away to Sunderland.

Sunderland put in a strong performance in their first home game of the season, defeating West Ham United 3-0 and showcasing the spirit of a newly promoted team. Andrews admitted he was looking forward to the match: "I can't wait."

“The Stadium of Light is a ground of tradition and Sunderland’s story as a club is moving. They have hit rock bottom but have now risen again and have an incredibly passionate and dedicated fan base. I am sure our players will be inspired by this atmosphere.”

As someone who visited the Stadium of Light as a player, Andrews stressed his special feelings for the place: "I value the history of the club, the connection between the fans and the team, and the importance of football to the local community."

"Sunderland are a really welcoming place, they've had some tough times but are now on an upward trajectory. I know what the challenge is going to be on Saturday."

Andrews also expressed respect for his opponents. He believes that Sunderland, coached by Regis Le Bris, is a very dangerous team: "We saw their best performance in the game against West Ham. They were very dangerous at certain times."

"They have brought in some excellent players while keeping the core and team spirit that made them improve. This is a team that is extremely committed both offensively and defensively. We will face Sunderland with the utmost respect, as this game is equally important to us."
